Qualcomm Promises More Affordable Snapdragon X PCs in 2025
700 Price Point Targeting Wider Market
Current Dev Kits and PCs Priced Significantly Higher
Qualcomm has announced plans to launch Snapdragon X PCs at a significantly lower price point of $700 in 2025. Currently, Snapdragon X-powered PCs are available as development kits starting at $900 or as commercial devices priced at $1000 or more.
According to Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, the company aims to make Snapdragon X PCs more accessible to a wider range of consumers. The new, lower price point of $700 represents a substantial drop of $200 to $300 compared to current offerings.
The more affordable Snapdragon X PCs are expected to feature competitive performance and connectivity options, making them viable alternatives to traditional x86-based PCs. This move by Qualcomm has the potential to expand the market for Arm-powered PCs and bring the benefits of long battery life, instant-on capabilities, and cellular connectivity to a wider audience.
