Dozens of Potential Storm Damage Paths Investigated

The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that at least six tornadoes touched down in the Chicago area on Monday night, with investigations underway to determine the exact number.

Two tornadoes were reported near Des Moines, Iowa, and another just outside O'Hare Airport. The NWS said a tornado also touched down near Joliet, and additional damage reports are being assessed.

The tornadoes were part of a severe weather system that brought dangerous straight-line winds and other hazards to the region for a second night in a row.

This latest round of severe weather follows a weekend of tornadoes that caused widespread damage across the central United States. The NWS urges residents to stay informed about local weather forecasts and take necessary precautions when severe weather threatens.
