Atlas defeated Queretaro 2-0 on Friday at Estadio La Corregidora, claiming their fifth straight victory and moving into sole possession of the Liga MX lead.

Julio Furch opened the scoring for Atlas in the 15th minute, but his goal was ruled out for offside. Twelve minutes later, Julio Zaldívar broke the deadlock, heading home a cross from Luis Reyes.

Queretaro came close to equalizing in the 35th minute, but Ariel Nahuelpan's header went just wide of the post. Atlas doubled their lead in the 65th minute when Edison Flores converted a penalty kick after Queretaro goalkeeper José Antonio Rodríguez fouled Zaldívar.

With the win, Atlas improved to 8-3-4, while Queretaro dropped to 3-8-4. Queretaro has now lost five of their last six games.
