DGCA Fines Air India
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has fined Air India Rs 10 lakh for not reporting an unruly passenger incident on time.
The incident occurred on a flight from London to Delhi on December 6, 2022.
A drunk passenger allegedly urinated on a female passenger in business class.
Show Cause Notice to Akasa Air
DGCA has also issued a show cause notice to Akasa Air for not reporting a mid-air incident on time.
The incident occurred on a flight from Mumbai to Chennai on November 3, 2022.
The aircraft encountered severe turbulence, injuring two passengers.
SpiceJet Under Surveillance
SpiceJet has been placed under surveillance by DGCA for a series of incidents, including:
- Hard landing in Mumbai on July 2, 2022
- Engine failure in Patna on July 5, 2022
- Cabin pressurization issue in Delhi on July 6, 2022
DGCA has directed SpiceJet to take corrective action within 30 days.
