49ers Have Framework for Trade with Browns and Patriots
Aiyuk To Decide Between Teams
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers have a framework for a trade that would send wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to either the Cleveland Browns or the New England Patriots, NBC Sports Bay Area reported Thursday.
The 49ers are giving Aiyuk the opportunity to choose his destination, per the report.
Aiyuk, 24, has been with the 49ers since they selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has 160 catches for 2,183 yards and 15 touchdowns in three seasons.
The 49ers have been looking to trade Aiyuk for some time, and the Browns and Patriots have both been interested in acquiring him.
The Browns are in need of a wide receiver after trading Odell Beckham Jr. to the Los Angeles Rams earlier this season. The Patriots are also looking for a wide receiver after trading N'Keal Harry to the Chicago Bears.
It is unclear what the 49ers will get in return for Aiyuk. However, they are likely to receive a draft pick in return.
The 49ers are hoping to finalize the trade before the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 1.
