Former Austrian councillor Elisabeth Sauer, 68, was tragically killed in a shark attack while snorkelling near Hurghada, Egypt. Hassan Al-Tayeb, head of the Hurghada Maritime Rescue Association, reported that the victim was found with severe head injuries.

In a separate incident, Vladimir Popov, 23, was captured on harrowing footage being attacked by a tiger shark while swimming off the coast of Cancun, Mexico.
